There are several reports about the synthesis of spherical colloidal nanoparticles by gamma radiation routes [53, 54]. Figure 2 shows the typical TEM micrographs of spherical Au nanoparticles synthesized by gamma irradiation and using Chenopodium murale leaf capping agent [27].
Up to now, the γ-radiation route has been employed to prepare many types of novel nanomaterials, such as silver nanoparticles, CdS nanocrystal-modified fibers, CdSe quantum dots, and polyelectrolyte complex [19 23].
