In his textbooks (Hsieh 2010a; Hsieh 2010b), Hsieh cued some ways of cultural assessment, such as through individual and group interviews, surveys and questionnaires, problem solutions, cultural assumption identifications and subculture concerns.
This approach of analyzing local barriers (using a questionnaire) and tailoring solutions to the identified barriers is foundational to customized knowledge translation, although empirical data showing the success of such an approach is modest [ 4].
