Their newest business venture is the Q Restaurant and Bar, a barbeque place they opened last year a few blocks away from their bakery.
Q Restaurant and Bar More than a few talented young couples have opened worthy restaurants in the region, including: the Riverdale Garden, in the Bronx Ill Cigno (rechristened Meritage), in Scarsdale; and Lia's, in Hartsdale.
The Kohns, who own Q Restaurant and Bar, a nearby barbecue spot, want to expand with a second restaurant in Westchester and hope to open another Kneaded Bread in or near the new place.
Recently renovated to the tune of $60 million, every room glistens under a great lighting fixture: the gorgeous lobby's chandelier, soothing spa room, Fairmont Gold terrace lounge and yummy Q restaurant — just in time for Canada Day during the country's 150th birthday.
He also founded Longridge Food Systems, a franchisee of Godfather's Pizza and Luther's Bar-B-Q restaurants.
In addition to his Maurices Bar-B-Q restaurants, he sells his trademark yellow sauce, dubbed Carolina Gold, in stores, with his own image smiling down from every bottle.
"We got sick of people pumping pork full of horrible stuff to make it tender," said Nick Pihakis, the founder of the collective and the owner of 29 Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q restaurants from Denver to Charleston, S.C. "The right meat, processed and cooked simply, in the right way — it doesn't need those chemicals".
Filming also took place at the futuristic Ice-Q restaurant, which became the Hoffler Klinik in the film, which is next to the new installation.
