A reactionary Murdoch empire would aim to topple anybody pushing for, say, companies to pay more tax, asking questions about the nature of the US alliance over intelligence sharing, spying on neighbours and foreign companies.
"He has a political sense to know where to push and what to push for," said Vincent E. Doyle III, president of the State Bar Association.
"Our politicians are presenting this as a project that will save us from the economic crisis, but they're ignoring several reasons why this goes against what this country should push for," said Sonia Pomares, a member of Aturem EuroVegas, or Stop EuroVegas, a protest association formed this year in Catalonia.
"[Hardwicke] liked me, but there was another actor that the studio was pushing for", Facinelli said.
