A 2009 study by Jeremy Nemeth, PhD, in the publication Cityfutures, details DHS coordination with municipal leaders and police forces in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, that turned whole sections of these cities into DHS-managed "security zones" (see maps in the link below).
This 126-page publication, written under the coordination of Francisco Mendoza of FAO, covers the main aspects of the project – from the national assessments to the common regional elements and the opportunities offered by the Mountain Partnership for promoting a better regional cooperation.
His publications cover EU budgetary coordination and surveillance, and economic and budgetary developments and reforms in Latvia, the UK and Greece.
Marquise is also heavily involved with the North Carolina based NGO Hope For Haiti Foundation where she does everything from program coordination to newsletter publication.
