There is a considerable gap between the need for and provision of ITB figures nationally.
Among the main strengths of our study, the unique combined data from patients and physicians allowed provision of reference figures for the vast majority of diseases encountered in primary care for a large number of patients.
The EPI3 study was a cross-sectional survey combining unique data from patients and general practitioners (GPs), and allowed provision of reference figures for the vast majority of diseases encountered in primary care for a large number of patients.
The maps (Figure 4a,b) were processed to qualitatively estimate the spatial explicit provision of ES. Figure 4a displays the land use-specific water purification and food and fodder provision.
The score difference was larger at the end of treatment than three months later (for instance, mean score differences of 10 and 5 points respectively in satisfaction with doctors' provision of information, Figure 3).
Major strengths of this study include the large sample, the multicenter nature, the rigorous data collection on a range of determinants and provision of standardised prevalence figures.
As a consequence, this causes a gain in life years and QALYs compared to current practice scenario (no provision of SBI). Such households tend to rely on river water for domestic uses, including provision of drinking water (see Figure 2).
