In our study design, SLNB provided alteration of treatment in at least 11 of the 21 patients: 6 patients with large T2 tumors (>3 cm) and 3 patients with T3 tumors revealed tumor-free inguinal SLN and would have received unnecessary irradiation under the standard treatment regime.
