In this contribution, we wish to describe some modifications made to the original first generation detector design by Bhattacharyya et al. [ 13, 14] and report the performance of the current second generation prototype design as compared to the commercial system available in the XL-A.
In particular, the maxima emission for 2 is at 450 nm, which presents a blue shift up to 80 nm as compared to prototype complex 1, indicating the introduction of methylene group is a feasible strategy to archive true blue-emitting materials.
The weight and volume of the system could be at least reduced by 9.71% and 8.16% respectively as compared to the prototype after being optimized.
Two of these compounds (7 and 8) showed better preclinical activity profiles, including cell growth inhibition, cell killing, and in vitro topoisomerase II inhibition, as compared to the prototype molecule etoposide (1).
