"Zhou Yu's Train," like Mr. Wong's work, features a lot of romantic longing, underlined by ravishing, soft-focus imagery and swooning pop music, with a little bit of formal play -- manipulation of the time line, doubling of characters, obsessive repetition of symbolic moments -- that serves as proof of the director's artistic intention.
But the cumulative heft of Nolan's cinematic achievement is evident throughout The Dark Knight Trilogy (2012, Warner, 12) box set, in which the disparately ambitious strands of the series are impressively brought together as proof of the director's uncanny ability to please and challenge the crowd simultaneously.

"Maar is the protagonist and not just because she was his lover and confidante, but because her photographs are the only proof of how the picture evolved," director Carlos Saura says.
A procedure log was completed by the resident, reviewed by the supervising physician and presented to the program director as a proof of procedure experience.
