The Midwifery-Initiated Oral Health Dental Service program was developed to address current gaps in oral promotional interventions during pregnancy.
This paper reviews several of the major promotional campaigns from around the world and provides analysis of their level of success, with a view to developing novel approaches for formulating more effective marketing and promotional interventions that will prompt significant change.
Indeed, ingesting unpasteurized milk has only been implicated epidemiologically (4 – 8 ); nonetheless, it remains a consideration for health promotional interventions.

The CRUZA Toolkit is stocked with promotional and intervention materials that can be easily distributed to parishioners, such as: Bible bookmarks, parish bulletin inserts, spiritually-themed photo frames with health messages, birthday cards with reminders about age-appropriate screening guidelines, and bi-fold brochures that weaved family, faith, and health messages together.
Because this study was nested within a standardized clinical trial, and more overt engagement of male partners at a single site might have biased the main trial results, we did not include any kind of formal outreach, promotional activities or intervention to involve male partners, although clinic staff kept records of male partner clinic attendance (for any service).
These gaps in knowledge highlight the need for increased interventions, promotional messages providing information on HIV serodiscordance and where to access CVCT services, and the importance of CVCT to prevent HIV transmission between partners.
