HBO co-presidents of programming Richard Plepler and Michael Lombardo kicked off HBO's portion of the Television Critics Association press tour Wednesday, with news of a Rolling Stones documentary movie, more scoop on Larry David's latest project for the network and much, much more.
It formed the focal point of the first project of the Network for Evaluation of Structural Components (NESC), with the objective of validating the combination of non-destructive inspection and structural mechanics assessment procedures for evaluating the integrity of such an aged structure containing postulated flaws.
There are "Queer Eye" spin-offs in development in Britain and Australia; a kiddie bedroom makeover show, "Knock First," on ABC Family; a syndicated daytime show, "Gal Pals," on the boards; and a couple of projects for the Trio network.
But Naqeeb Ahmed, 29, project officer for the network, knows from his experience at the University of Birmingham that young Muslims are often prime prey for extremists.
The series is the first original project developed for the network by Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, the husband-and-wife team behind "The Game," which started at the CW.
He'll also now have his own production company, developing television projects for the two networks.
Over the past several months, students in our MPA in Environmental Science and Policy program completed projects for: The Safe Water Network, The World Resources Institute, The Mary Robinson Foundation, The New York City Mayor's Office of Long-Term Planding and Sustainability, The New York City Department of Education, West Harlem Environmental Action (WEACT), and the Arbor Day Foundation.
His production company, Roving Enterprises, makes The Project for the Ten network.
In order for the project to be ready for the network's "upfront" presentations to advertisers in May, casting began before the script was completed.
