Farmers and farmer-group members were rigorously trained on breeding programme designs and management, husbandry, including primary healthcare and were facilitated to run their show with frontline technical support from the NGO's and government officers.
In spite of the various constraints and shortcomings in the initial programme design, structures and management, it was found that the Family Visitors (FV) programme has, to a large extent, achieved the original programme objectives.
