PC346DCC revealed very low levels of the AR and its target gene prostate specific antigen (PSA), and was insensitive to androgen stimulation in growth assays, promotor transactivation assays and expression microarray profiling (unpublished data) [20].
We used miR-152 as an endogenous normalization control, since its expression was not altered during different stages of erythroid differentiation [14], and it showed the least amount of variation across 40 different human tissues in a separate microRNA real-time RT-PCR profiling study (Applied Biosystems, unpublished data).
To determine if this expression pattern is conserved across species, we examined the expression of human HKGs orthologs in mouse, rat, and dog gene expression profiling data sets (unpublished data) for these species (Table 2).
