A significant increase in cells carrying split MLL gene signals at 6, 36 and 48 hours after etoposide exposure was observed when the cells were ATM deficient and not when they were ATM proficient (Figures 1B, C and S2).
Cr VI) exposure led to a significant increase in chromosomal ends and fusions that lack telomere signals in WRN deficient U2OS cells, compared to WRN proficient cells (Figure 6).

We found that the CAK component MAT1 colocalized with core TFIIH components at DNA damage sites in repair-proficient HeLa (Figure 1A) and NHF (Figure 2B D) cells.
More importantly, CAK recruitment to DNA damage sites, as depicted by MAT1, was defective in all three XPG-deficient cells, but not in repair-proficient NHF (Figure 2C).
They are close enough to the corridors of power to hear secrets and technically proficient enough to figure out what is going on, as Ms. Watkins did as she decoded Enron's impenetrable accounting (she had been an executive at Andersen before joining Enron).

While non-targeting siRNA did not ostensibly alter the response to cytarabine in either clone, MLH1 silencing in the previously MLH1-proficient e1 line (immunoblot in Figure 2E ii)) did result in cytarabine sensitivity.
