The American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association ECG recording guidelines and others have repeatedly highlighted the unacceptable progressive deterioration in ECG accuracy mainly resulting from a performer's lack of proficiency and diligence, leading to frequent electrode misplacement.
The classification resulted from students' performances on the 2003 Grade 8 proficiency assessment exam.
The six proficiency levels are specified in terms of can-do statements that resulted from a detailed analysis of a number of international scales (North 2000).
Proficiency testing results from the C-IMT also support the introduction of a cell resting period for Elispot assays [ 2].
In 1998, the Italian National Institute of Health launched, in accordance with the World Health Organization and International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, a project to implement proficiency testing; results from the first (1998 1999) and second surveys (2000) showed substantial improvement in the accuracy of drug-susceptibility testing in the network.
Later in life, non-native languages can still be acquired at different ages of acquisition (AoA), resulting in variable proficiencies.
The results from proficiency testing provide a tool that enables laboratories to evaluate and demonstrate the reliability of the data produced.
It has been used particularly in addiction treatment studies [ 22, 23], MI training interventions and to evaluate clinical use of MI in different settings and on different professions [ 24– 30], including nurses [ 25, 31– 33] and has shown varying results, from achieved proficiency in all parts/variables of the MITI to lack of proficiency across the board.
Part of validating ELTS involved concurrently validating the new test with test results from other proficiency tests including EPTB and ELBA (English Language Battery) (Davies, 1990).
Figure 6 depicts the results from this proficiency panel.
Results from a proficiency panel of 36 laboratories from nine different countries in which the ELISPOT assay was validated are now also being reported [ 41].
