New York City alone has more than 200 such schools, with high schools devoted to such themes as leadership, the sports professions, technology, health professions, the media, diversity, peace and social justice.
When Mr. Pilbrow started his theatrical profession four decades ago technology was relatively primitive.
"Acknowledging that theater can be an inherently dangerous profession as technology continues to challenge the boundaries of creativity, and because of the technical difficulties and challenges in 'Spider-Man,' the show has worked hard to have safety protocols in place," the union's statement said.
Bolstered by her principal investigator, she started exploring the profession of technology transfer.

But as people in these professions leverage technology to apply their expertise, we likely won't need as many of them.
Unlike most professions in technology, a growth hacker isn't a set of skills or a stock of knowledge.
"For a long time now, I've been very interested in bringing more people, particularly underrepresented [populations] and women, into what they call the STEM professions": science, technology, engineering, and math.
I have even been known to harp on the Big Bang Theory character Sheldon Cooper as an example of the media's steadfast resolution to portray the STEM professions — and technology in particular — as populated by anti-social, hoodie wearing (or poorly dressed) white males.
