These were derived from naturally occurring minerals and plant products: compounds of arsenic, copper, lead, manganese, zinc, and other minerals; pyrethrum, from the dried flowers of chrysanthemums; nicotine sulphate, from some of the relatives of tobacco; and rotenone, from leguminous plants of the East Indies.
These products, compounds, and methods are described, and literature on their effectiveness in masking drug use is reviewed.
It initially recalled the three lots of the drug, and expanded its recall on Saturday to all products compounded and distributed at its Framingham facility.
We targeted several members of the epoxyquinoid class of natural products, compounds 28 35 (Fig. 8).
Natural products compounds have been the mainstay of several drug discoveries since the early days of the antibiotic era due to challenge posed by antibiotic resistance.
These crystals were soaked with various synthetic peptidoglycan derivatives corresponding to both peptidoglycan substrate analogs and LTase reaction products (compounds 1– 6; Figure 1C).
