As for his own efforts, God Help The Girl slinks along with a spry Bacharach swing, encompassing Pearly Spencer-style 60s production pop and, on I Want To Dance With Cassie, an authentically Abba-esque Breezers-aloft anthem ("Cassie dances madly like a boxing kangaroo/Her little joey gets the drinks").
And I do think what we're going to see, and we may be starting to see it right now, is that production pop.
I think we're probably going to get a production pop because inventories have gotten worked down to such lean levels that if you were going to get a pop, it may look therefore at least for a brief period like a kind of classic "V" bottom, and it may suck some people into the optimistic camp, and it will probably be short lived.
However, Fletcher did feel that, while based on the rehearsal footage, Jackson "falls short of his groundbreaking 'Dangerous' and 'Bad' world tours," he noted that Jackson's age and thinness was mostly likely a factor in his performances and described Jackson as having more "star quality and charisma than a million Simon Cowell factory-line production pop singers".

The trouble is, apart from a few spontaneous performances, a high-production pop show like MDNA is so tightly choreographed that there is little room for tinkering, let alone cutting the two fan favourites Revolver (a top 10 hit in some of the countries Madonna visits) and Gang Bang which are lyrically themed around guns.
