The processes of teamwork and taskwork functions represent unique skills, and together form integral part of an effective community based team.
Vigorous attention to patient outcomes supports the learning of the traditional knowledge, skills and attitudes of the professions but also compels attention to processes of teamwork, and quality improvement, and to enhanced understanding of the nature of, and threats to, patient safety.
Based on theoretical assumptions, thinking in design is reduced to the four basic cognitive operations of generation, exploration, comparison and selection, which, in various combinations, are applied to the goal space and the solution space of a given problem as well as to the organisation of the collective process of teamwork.
As stated in previous sections, each group of students reflect on the process of the teamwork at the end of each phase of the digital process.
This lack of attractiveness is explained by predominantly curative and specialized care, a hospital-centered model of medical education with little experience of primary care, the lack of prestige, lower income levels, a heavy workload, a lot of uncertainties during the clinical decision making process, the absence of teamwork, and the insufficient intellectual content [ 12, 17].
However, it has been suggested that if collaboration depends on reducing doctor authority, it is unrealistic to expect that all doctors will readily be engaged in this process; conceptual models of teamwork and collaboration must articulate the desired nature of interaction between professionals with different degrees of responsibility and authority [ 9].
For the second research question concerning students' knowledge of teamwork processes, we administered a pre- and posttest version of the Dimensions of Teamwork Survey (Ryan 2008).
We used a discussion guide with open-ended questions and a time-line activity to identify local concepts, perceptions and experiences of teamwork processes.
In addition, the process augmented the sense of teamwork and cooperation between different staff categories because it required involvement of doctors, nurses, and midwives working together.
