To enroll 50,000 patients in DD2 the procedure for enrollment has to be fast and simple.
Strengths of this study included a comprehensive battery of baseline questions and a similar procedure for enrollment in the study regardless of recruitment strategy.
As a result of the extensive efforts used to standardize procedures for participant enrollment (24, 25), laboratory analyses (34), data collection (24, 25), and analysis of results (25, 26), HAPO data were used as the basis for the new GDM diagnostic thresholds recommended in this report.
Community-level interventions aiming to carefully describe the policy and procedures for registration are needed to increase insurance enrollment.
The procedure for participant enrollment is shown in Figure 1.
Physicians followed a specific procedure for the enrollment of patients and the collection and entry of physician, site, and patient information (Fig. 1).
The procedure of enrollment has been described in detail [ 14].
All study participants were informed of study procedures, risks, and benefits and provided written consent/assent for enrollment.
