Intrinsic to the concept/objective is the study of a complex system allowing the identification of appropriate procedures of intervention and monitoring.
In the intervention condition, eligible participants were further informed about the procedure of the intervention, but they were not otherwise informed that this was the intervention under study.
We consider the following as the most important: 1) participation must be completely voluntary at any point during the intervention, 2) the intervention must not be persuasive (i.e. advocating for a certain treatment option), and 3) the goal and the procedure of the intervention must be clear to all participants.
The procedure of the intervention will also be outlined in a written manual.
The HIMS provides doctors with a whole set of helps ranging from maintaining a dataset of high-risk farmers, scheduling and reminding (via land or cell-phones) follow-up intervention services, reviewing individual performance and intervention history, to facilitating (via built-in standard operating procedures) delivery of intervention counseling etc.
