Individuals assigned to populations with a high probability, with only six individuals ambiguously assigned with probability of assignment ≥0.99 (Fig. 4).
To identify the likely number of populations within A. citrinellus, STRUCTURE was used to assign a probability of assignment of each individual to different genotypic clusters defined by the ten microsatellite loci [ 29].
Haplotypes were assigned from the individual SNP data using Phase v2 and the probability of assignment was greater than 95%.
Patients will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups with an equal probability of assignment to each treatment (allocation ratio 1 1).
A threshold for probability of assignment by the MS-MIMIC classifier was empirically set to 0.69, below which samples were non-classifiable (Supplementary Fig. 5).
Control is most readily accomplished through random assignment, which means that the procedures by which participants are assigned to a treatment and control condition ensure that each has equal probability of assignment to either group.
The accuracies and efficiencies calculated from the analyses of these simulated datasets across a range of posterior probability of assignment thresholds are shown in Fig. 2 and Supplementary Figures 1-3.
A posterior probability of assignment threshold of 0.8 for individual classification was chosen based on the simulations and calculation of efficiency and accuracy (Fig. 2, Supplementary Figures 1-3).
We evaluated both assignment to each of the six genotype frequency classes (Fig. 2 and Supplementary Figure 1), and pooled hybrid class identification (Supplementary Figures 2 and 3) separately, and accepted individual assignments to a class if their posterior probability of assignment to that class met, or exceeded a threshold of 0.8.
From Fig. 2 (and also Supplementary Figure 3) it can be seen that the proportion of simulated individuals correctly assigned as either pure wild or feral are the highest across all posterior probability of assignment thresholds, while F1, F2, and backcross wild were comparatively lower.
In this technique propensity scores which are defined as the probability of assignment to the treated group, conditional on observed covariates are estimated.
