Ministers and the NHS should prioritise efforts to relieve the growing pressures on GPs as well as a drive to significantly expand the workforce, the Health Foundation says.
The uplift in land values that result from new transport infrastructure is literally a measure of how much the public values the improvements – and is therefore a great way to prioritise efforts.

Prioritising deportation efforts on criminals, people-traffickers and other high-priority cases and letting law-abiding families earn citizenship.
He said: "We are prioritising our efforts to increase employment, strengthen education and skills, and promote new business growth.
"Of the 89 outstanding, only eight have convictions for violence and we are prioritising our efforts to trace and arrest them," he said.
