The price of light trucks rose 0.5percentt.
The price of light crude fell $4.02 to $132.66 a barrel following the fuel price increase announcement.
The price of light sweet crude rose to $99.63 a barrel while Brent crude rose 3.24 percent to $115.42.
"Given the lack of an appreciable drop in the demand or price of light cigarettes after the truth about lights was revealed," the ruling said, "plaintiffs' argument that defendants' misrepresentation caused the market to shift and the price of lights to be inflated fails as a matter of law".
The price of light diesel oil in Pakistan has been rising almost nonstop since 2001, and in just the last three years it has gone from 60 rupees/liter to over 90 rupees/liter (1 US dollar = 95 rupees).
The price of light crude fell 50 cents, to $26.12 a barrel, as Iraq called off a self-imposed embargo on its two million barrels a day of crude exports -- some 4percentt of internationally traded oil.
The price of light crude oil, the benchmark grade in the United States, tumbled nearly 4percentto to $30.34 a barrel and is now nearly 20percentt below the peak of $37.80 a barrel reached last week.
A seasonally adjusted 2.2percentt rise in the cost of passenger cars and a 2percentt increase in the price of light trucks accounted for three-fourths of the September increase in the core rate, the report said.
As if cued by Mr. Naimi's remarks, the price of light crude for delivery in a month's time climbed 80 cents, to $36.25 a barrel, in New York trading on Tuesday, approaching the 13-year high it reached earlier this month.
