Differences in the CCCH protein content between the Tritryps is mainly due to either the loss or gain of a single gene or gene duplication or loss of a previously duplicated gene; in all cases with little disruption of synteny.
Differences in the content of the genes coding for CCCH proteins between Tb and Lm can be accounted for by (i) the loss or gain of a single gene or (ii) gene duplication or loss of a previously duplicated gene; in both cases this occurred with only small changes in synteny.
Yet, it was possible to have more than one duplication per family if they occurred in (were phylogenetically reconstructed to) parallel orthologous clades or if they occurred in a previously duplicated clade, which later reverted to the singleton status due to duplication loss.

The test paradigm reported previously was duplicated as closely as possible [ 11].
The aim of the present study was to characterise a critical gene and enzyme of LC-PUFA biosynthesis, Elovl5, in Northern pike and to compare with previously identified, duplicated elovl5 paralogs in Atlantic salmon.
Twenty-two genes were found in previously identified duplicated segmental regions on chromosomes that are the result of a polyploidy that occurred around 24 to 40 million years ago, probably close to the emergence of the crucifer family [ 53].
During the stage called mitosis, where the DNA of a cell (which has previously been duplicated) is shared into two daughter cells, the chromosomes become tightly packed structures that can be readily moved through the cytoplasm.
In order to assess the recovery of standard, a fixed amount of 1.44 nmol MDA / tube was added to aliquots of previously assayed duplicated resuspended LDL samples from three different plasmas.
The overall pattern of conversion-mediated homogeneity among hsp70 genes in S. singularior that decays with distance from CDS, and polymorphic flanks that contain large indels, is consistent with previously described duplicated hsp70s in Drosophila [ 22].
The 1544 previously reported duplicated genes in ten duplicated blocks involving 45% of the rice genome [ 12] were consistent with our results, but the detection of almost three times as many colinearily-ordered duplicated genes in the present study allowed us to discover additional duplicated segments, for instance among Os03/Os12 and Os04/Os08 (Table S6 of Additional file 1).
We identified 49 of previously unknown duplicated genes where one of the paralogs is under positive Darwinian selection and shows a significantly high rate of molecular evolution whereas the other copy did not undergo such dramatic changes, most likely due to purifying selection.
