It refers to occupations or jobs that are highly respected and admired by society. Example: Many students dream of pursuing prestigious occupations such as doctors, lawyers, or engineers.
In some countries access to higher education has come to be considered an entitlement or, alternatively, a social requirement for entry into the most prestigious occupations or high political offices.
