In HeLa cells this higher molecular weight band was constitutively present (Supplementary Material, Fig. S2A).
However, at 4.5 months after surgery this difference was no longer present (supplementary material Table S1).
Sanger sequencing was available for one of these sites which confirmed the heteroplasmy present (supplementary material S12, Supplementary Material online).
