This summer, the plays -- main stage productions, special presentations, musicals in progress, staged readings of new works by playwrights, all in their 20's, and free outdoor theater by the apprentice company -- add up to 17. Just as the creative process is an elusive, undefinable thing, what the program offers apprentices and writers changes from year to year, reshaping itself to artistic needs.
Lectures and interviews by New Yorker writers on the topics and people that interest them, as well as special presentations of works in progress, will be featured tomorrow.

Among the panels, parties, and presentations of works in progress are several notable repeat stagings: the "Large" and "Made-to-Measure" versions of Trajal Harrell's important "Paris Is Burning at the Judson Church" series, Neal Medlyn's "Wicked Clown Love," and recent pieces by Maria Hassabi and Jack Ferver.
