In the present study, attractiveness was defined as the global attractiveness of a potential short-term partner for a date.

The standardized univariate linear, quadratic, and correlational selection gradients for each measure of male attractiveness are presented in Tables 2, 3, and 4. When relative mating success was used as the response variable, we found significant linear selection on PC2 (Table 2).
On one extreme side there are concepts requiring only a modest extrapolation of the present technology, but with limited attractiveness.
Nonetheless, this same pattern of stabilizing selection was also present for the remaining two attractiveness traits along this axis.
We also found that medium to large sizes were rated as the most attractive by both male groups and that viewing angle changed rating of female attractiveness and breast presented in oblique view were rated generally higher than in side view.
