In these cases, the most prescribed modalities were fluids (42.7%, 138) and antibiotics (42.2%, 137), followed by electrolyte reposition (24.2%, 78), diuretics (15.2%, 49), blood transfusions (11.5%, 37) and immunosuppressants (8.4%, 27).
Additional research could help optimize the concurrent use of these important and widely prescribed treatment modalities for diabetes.
