To purify the enzyme responsible for this NADH-dependent tellurite reductase activity, we fractionated the soluble proteins present in cell-free extracts of S. epidermidis CH using a series of chromatographic separations, and obtained a preparation enriched for this activity, as described in Materials and Methods.
