McClearn and Rodgers1 have reported differences in alcohol preference of various strains of mice tested on a two-bottle choice between water and a 10percentnt ethanol solution.
Huang et al. [ 29] have used sequence and structural information to predict DNA-binding residues in transcription factors, while Jongkon et al. [ 30] have predicted the binding preference of various strains of avian influenza A to cognate human receptors.
This suggests that Santeuil worms could have a slight preference for the bacterium species with which they are more likely to be familiar for an overview of the average preference of all strains, see Additional file 9B; for the complete dataset, see Additional file 1, worksheet Q (Wormcount and Choice Index) and see Additional file 1, worksheet R (Significances).

However, recent studies and case reports have described urethral and pharyngeal LGV infections in MSM, and urogenital and cervical infections among women [ 20, 25– 27], suggesting at least no specific preference of LGV-inducing strains to solely infect anorectal tissue.
