The almost unanimous preference for printed over online articles among respondents from Africa compared to those from other settings is striking.
Importantly, however, almost one-third of respondents all from Africa described a preference for printed, hard-copy periodicals.
Desire to be referred was associated with higher preference for printed materials (coefficient = 2.739, p < 0.001), telephone calls (coefficient = 3.000, p < 0.001), and email (coefficient = 2.059, p = 0.02).
We assessed acceptability using measures of satisfaction (overall, layout, content, and preference for printed vs. Web-based version) assessed with a 5-point Likert scale; we targeted a satisfaction level of 80% for 'good' acceptability.

And journal literature seems exempt from the preference for print – I haven't heard many complaints about deaccessioning back runs of print journals represented in JSTOR's collections, for instance.
