DCs frequently changed direction as they moved and did not exhibit any particular directional preference (Figure 5E).
Females located in either of the two neutral quadrants were scored as not having shown a preference (Figure 4).
Phenylalanine (Phe) at the −2 position demonstrated the strongest preference (Figure 3A 3C), in line with results from the first scan (Figure 1).
Whereas no ISAba1 copy was identified on any of the plasmids of isolate AYE, chromosomal copies showed no site integration preference (Figure 3).
Using the online program DNAworks http://helixweb.nih.gov/dnaworks [48], the gene sequences of hCCR5, hCCR3, hCXCR4 and hCX3CR1 were optimized using human codon preference (Figure S1).
However, when offered in mixtures against pure solvent, four compounds stand out as eliciting a significant preference (Figure 5b): n-heptanal, α-pinene, sabinene, (Z -3-hexenyl acetate.
In the novel object recognition test, we found that there was no significant difference in the amount of time spent on exploring the two objects during the training session, as shown by the exploratory preference (Figure 2A).
However, when the retention duration was further increased to 1 week, the transgenic rats no longer exhibited any preference (Figure 2B), indicating both types of rats have forgotten the objects they explored initially.
A second probe trial at the end of the reversal phase showed that, whereas controls had successfully learned to navigate reliably and precise to the new platform position, TMZ-treated mice largely failed to adapt to the changed situation and to develop an appropriate new spatial preference (Figure 4F, G).
Further, our second GLMM revealed that the attractiveness of a certain male's area depended on the vitamin E concentration difference of the males' femoral secretion within a pair (F1,18 = 9.17, P = 0.007): larger difference resulted in stronger preference (Figure 2).
