The phrase "prefer upon" is not correct and should not be used in written English
If you want to convey the idea of preferring something, the correct phrase would be "prefer to" or "prefer over". For example, "I prefer to wear sneakers over high heels" or "I prefer to go to the movies rather than stay at home".
