Here we report that a single preemptive perineural application of bupivacaine initially did not block the onset of allodynia, but did attenuate mechanical and cold allodynia as early as 7 10 days following nerve injury.
Application of preemptive approaches can reduce the postoperative pharmacological burden on the patients.
