For the prediction set, the RMSEP was calculated as follows: mathrm{RMSEP}=sqrt{frac{sum limits_{i=1}^{n_{mathrm{p}}}{left {y}_{mathrm{i}}-overset{wedge }{y_{mathrm{i}}}right)}^2}{n_{mathrm{p}}}} (2).
Using a seven-gene prediction set, the estimated prediction error was 3% (1/34).
For the prediction set, the Pearson's and concordance correlation coefficients between the IgG measured by RID and predicted by ATR spectroscopy were both 0.93.
To see whether these observations are robust, the same analysis was performed with PicTar prediction set, the overlap of TargetScan and PicTar prediction set as recommended by Sethupathy [ 36], as well as miRanda prediction set with alignment score greater than 155 (see Additional File 4).
