Black and white precincts consistently support different candidates for the Council, the suit says, adding that "white bloc voting usually results in the defeat of candidates who are preferred by black voters".
The experiment was modeled after public outreach campaigns conducted by the Los Angeles LGBT Center in voting precincts that overwhelmingly supported Proposition 8, the 2008 state ballot measure that repealed same-sex marriage.
Yet in precinct after precinct, these individual accounts are supported by the most recent arrest statistics.

Despite the setback, three precincts in Minnesota elected McCarthy supported delegates to caucuses, to the detriment of Vice-President Hubert Humphrey, and President Johnson decided to abandon Massachusetts, giving 72 delegates to McCarthy.
With 87 percent of precincts reporting, 74 percent of city voters supported a two-term limit, while 26 percent opposed it.
"However, when reports of actual vote from sample or model precincts came in," it said, "they supported the survey results and allowed the race to be called".
