CAM has been defined as the "practices, approaches, knowledge and beliefs incorporating plant, animal and mineral-based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques and exercise"[ 2].
For the purpose of survey, "CAM was referred to practices, approaches, knowledge and beliefs incorporating plant, animal and mineral based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques and exercises" (WHO 2003).
Culture change is an on-going and evolving process that involves the difficult work of critically re-examining the language, values, assumptions, attitudes, practices, approaches and policies embedded within an organization (Fagan, 2003; Misiorski & Rader, 2010; Pioneer Network, 2013).
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines traditional medicine as referring to ' health practices, approaches, knowledge and beliefs incorporating plant, animal and mineral based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques and exercises, applied singularly or in combination to treat, diagnose and prevent illnesses or maintain well-being' [ 2].
Traditional medicines are diverse health practices, approaches, knowledge and beliefs that incorporate plant, animal and/or mineral based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques and exercises which are applied singularly or in combination to maintain well-being, as well as to treat, diagnose or prevent illness [ 1].
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), TM is "health practices, approaches, knowledge and beliefs incorporating plant, animal and mineral-based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques and exercises, applied singularly or in combination to maintain well-being, as well as to treat, diagnose or prevent illness" [ 5].
However, rather than being approached from a world's best practices approach, a general code of ethics approach has been utilized (Asgary and Mitschow, 2002).
Six of the seven practices approached participated.
Of the 48 general practices approached, 12 agreed to participate.
Thirty-seven (23 %) of 158 general practices approached expressed an interest.
We will record the number of practices approached, recruited and analysed.
