An educator visited members to discuss good health practices, physical activity and handling medications.
But this concerns only a small proportion of the total number of people practicing physical activity and participating in sport events.
3. Prepare your body, by practicing physical activity and sports, because sports builds fellowship, character, and independence.
This questionnaire was developed and used across the four sites of the OPIC study and included information on key behaviours such as dietary practices, physical activity and perceptions of school, home and neighbourhood environments.
For example, research has demonstrated improvements in diabetes outcomes and chronic illness self-management when behavioural support is forthcoming from relevant technologies, improving dietary practices, physical activity and adherence to medication regimens.
24 At the first visit (beginning of adjuvant chemotherapy), the participants meet the dietician and receive individualised dietary counselling according to dietary analysis, as well as print material (entitled "Tips for a healthy diet and practicing physical activity" and labelled in accordance with the PNNS2).
On the initial home visit after the selected eligible participant gave informed consent, questionnaire administration gathered demographic data, family, medical and social history as well as data on lifestyle practices, physical activities and dietary habits.
These results, despite the relatively short duration of the intervention, probably occurred because, aside from the 20 hours of recreational activities in school, the orientation toward healthy habits through the use of the illustrative diary encouraged them to practice physical activity every day and to adopt a healthy diet.
