The aptly-dubbed Orange Peel Exploitation Company – a partnership between three international universities – is investigating the potential of generating citrus-based biofuels by extracting chemical compounds from orange peel using high powered microwaves.
The High-Powered Microwave, as it is called, is reported by Aviation Week to be powerful enough to disable all of the motors in a swarm of up to 30 speedboats.
The onboard electricity supply would allow future advanced weapon systems to be carried, including lasers, high-powered microwave devices and electromagnetic rail guns, Mr. Signorelli said.
