Although basic research into metastatic niches is still at a relatively early stage, it is already clear that the formation and maturation of pre-metastatic and post-dissemination metastatic niches has a number of important potential clinical implications, both from the diagnostic and prognostic perspective, as well as for the design of effective metastasis therapy.
