In Ontario, Canada's most populous province (population 13.1 million), two meningococcal vaccines are currently in use at different ages.
School attendance in the million-population province has risen from just 38,000 in 2002 with 3,000 girls attending, to 210,000 at the beginning of the 2008 school year in March, 21% of whom are girls.
