In this manuscript, we have combined both catalytic and spectroscopic studies to demonstrate that isolated, framework SnIV sites dominate the Sn population of these materials, even at loadings of up to 5 wt %, which is a loading approximately two-to-three times greater than can be obtained by conventional hydrothermal methods.
