The distribution of operon characteristics (not their overall phylogeny) supports the existence of two superclades that we provisionally named Group 1 and Group 2. Group 1 contains compact, gene-rich men gene clusters, the co-localization of menF and menD, and contains menH, whereas Group 2 is defined by relatively gene-poor, dispersed (as in cyanobacteria) clusters.
Given the evidence that G. pyrenaicus is a poor disperser [36] and is already strongly dispersal-limited on the European scale, having failed to disperse to even relatively nearby suitable areas like the Alps, it is highly unlikely that the species will be able to track the shifting areas of suitable climate on a European scale (cf. [68]).
These studies suggest that over ocean dispersal in lizards is possible but rare, and these relatively poor dispersing abilities facilitate speciation in the absence of recent gene flow.
By further use of Cloisite 20A nanoclay particles with poor disperse-ability in PLA, we also proved that a high degree of dispersion significantly promoted the cell density and the expansion ratio of the PLA nanocomposites.

In the context of Antarctic coastal benthic communities, the slow rates of recovery, high ratio of poor dispersing and brooding species, high biogenic habitat heterogeneity and spatio-temporal variability in primary production become especially important considerations for conservation.
Judging by the number of landmasses occupied by each lineage, Clitaetra is a poor disperser and Nephila a very successful one, while Nephilengys, as an intermediate disperser, is the most diverse of the three across the Indian Ocean archipelago.
However, such refugia need not to be large for such poor dispersing, small animals: it has been shown that they can survive on very small areas, provided they are surrounded by other population patches [ 26].
