The field observation points were concentrated in two main areas (Fig. 4), one in the center-north (Fig. 3b) and one in the center-south (Fig. 3c, d).
In the total data set, the relationship between apoB100 and LDLc showed a clear positive linear relationship, whereas in Q2 and Q3, the relationship was not linear In Q2 and Q3 the data points were concentrated around the middle of the distribution, rather than being spread evenly along the regression line.
The event distributions look similar on almost all diagrams, except for the modified spherical orthogonal projection (Fig. 6g), for which the projected points are concentrated near the center.

Under these situations, where points are concentrated in the regions of sharp variation, local mesh refinement procedures [1, 2, 9, 15 17] are necessary, thus dramatically reducing the computational time and computer storage.
In this approach, the icosahedral grid is stretched using the Schmidt transformation method and the grid size becomes gradually finer as grid points are concentrated onto the area of interest.
The synthetic data in Fig. 7g show that points are concentrated on both the horizontal axis and the vertical axis; this is understandable, because each coordinate value is squared from the original spherical orthogonal projection (f).
The majority of the data points are concentrated around the line of equality between the experimental and predicted value of the property (45-degree line) therefore, the relationship between them is strong.
In graded meshes, basically half of the mesh points are concentrated in a O ( ε | ln ε | ) neighborhood of the point t = 0 and the remaining half forms a uniform mesh on the rest of [ 0, T ] (see [10, 11, 22]).
One can see in this figure that the data points are concentrated in a relatively narrow region of the diagram with the unique exception of Acremonium chrysogenum, thus suggesting a common behavior which could be tentatively fitted to a linear tendency (dotted line).
If a method is both fast and has low error, it is efficient: its points are concentrated towards the origin.
