The Abrams era might have given us Damon Lindelof's penchant for crazy plot twist overload, gratuitous shots of Alice Eve's Dr Carol Marcus in her bra and an approach to scientific theories straight out of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, but they also made the series relevant on the big screen for the first time in decades.
The play is burdened, however, by Mr. Fechter's attempts to graft every Shakespearean theme and character imaginable onto an already overloaded plot.
