The microarray contained 75,000 probes based on a previously validated microarray [ 47] but arranged in a modified 4-plex design, covering 17,443 melon unigenes derived from expressed sequence tags.
We reanalyzed DNA from a BMD patient with mosaicism in the DMD gene previously tested with the 4-plex design (patient 10, exons 49 52 deletion, 80 20 mutant:wild-type (WT)), this mosaic deletion was correctly detected (data not shown).

The 3-plex microarray with design name 120618_Cele_WS230_JK_CGH was manufactured by Roche NimbleGen Inc. with each individual sub-array comprising 720 k 50-mer oligonucleotide probes.
