Just recently, I was part of a blanket email sent to a range of film journalists asking if someone could please attribute their name to the pre-written quote "A non-stop action classic" for the DVD release of a middling thriller.
Our only request is that if you use the data, please attribute it back to us.
The CBS spokesperson, Katie Gunion, subsequently emailed us to say "would you please attribute the statement to Last.fm, it is currently reading as though CBS issued the statement" Gunion's email lists her title as Public Relations, CBS Interactive, and her first statement did not name Last.fm (this is important, see below).
For example, you might say: "Please attribute Molly Simonson as the creator of this work".
If a creator has a note attached to her work that says, "Please attribute Molly Kleinman as the creator of this work," then attribute Molly Kleinman.
The company attributed this "pleasing" result to turnaround actions implemented last year.
When doing so, please remember to attribute the site and its creators.
