General Electric's planned purchase of Unison Industries, a maker of aircraft engine parts, will be investigated by European antitrust regulators after four countries ruled that it might affect competition, the British Department of Trade and Industry said.

As it stands, they save the NHS money but if this divisive plan goes ahead Unison will be arguing strongly that staff should be paid the full rate for the job from day one.
While the TUC says it does not envisage a general strike, the GMB and Unison trade unions have said they are planning for co-ordinated industrial action unless the pay freeze is suspended.
